I was just wondering if theres any xbox users who has ever gotten an external hard drive to work with their xbox, other then the Microsoft ones. I have a 4gb xbox but, I need more space and was wondering how I can accomplish this, or if at all possible thanks.

if you want to use it to store your game files, i don't think it's possible without getting the original addon.

I have a usb external hard drive. Just connect it and xbox will format it and it works. You can only go up to 16 gigs.

I used my 60gig hard drive from my 360 for my 360 Slim.

You just open up the case of the 360 hard drive and pull the hard drive itself out. Then you can plug it into to Slim. You can youtube it.

^ Upgrade the heatsinks to keep them from overheating again .
There's also a water cooling system that plugs in to the fans of the xbox for pump power if you're looking to go that rout.
