Website or company for custom maps

Hello everybody,

What website/company do you recommend for a custom map for the accessport?

I am wondering because I might want to have a little more options in choosing my maps. I don't just want to have the COBB Accessport maps because I heard that some other maps might run a little better.

I've heard about iaperformance and their custom maps.

Also does anyone know if these custom maps are comparable to a tune on the accessport by a professional tuner?

Lastly, would a professional tune on the accessport come in the form of a map on the accessport?

Thanks for reading you guys. Just needed to know some options before going ahead with my plans.

+1 for torqued performance as an option. Running stage 1 with Harman Motive CAI and Invidia N1 catback and runs smoothly and great torque band with their tune. No boost creep, low idle or any other hiccups so far I'm pretty satisfied with their tune over Cobb stage 1

So the pdx tune down here is in the form of a map that can be chosen within the accessport right?

And what kind of map will professional tuners tune you, race or daily?
Do you have to pay them for every type of map you want them to make you?

A wideband and a laptop are required to do this, even if you have an AP. The AP is insufficient at logging for tuning purposes.

OP: So the pdx tune down here is in the form of a map that can be chosen within the accessport right?

If you choose to do the tune when PDX comes down, jarrad can load it to your AP and yes you can switch tunes via AP if you have other tunes on there.

OP: And what kind of map will professional tuners tune you, race or daily?

Pro-tunes are referred to tuners being in your car with the proper equipment, logging real time data, making changes on the spot. You tell your tuner what you will be using the car for and he will create a map for you on the spot depending on your wants and goals.

Do you have to pay them for every type of map you want them to make you?

It is common for tuners to charge extra for 2 maps, 1 for race and 1 for dd. If you do both maps at the same time, via same tune session, it costs a lot less then going in on 2 different occasions.

E-tunes and mail order maps that you get online requires a lot of logging and emailing back and forth, some places only allow you to send maps in for adjustment 2-3 times before they start charging you more. Keep in mind, you will work on their time and it could take days for communication because it is all through email.

I will recommend Clark tuner at Clarkturnertuning.com but I will be the only one here with a positive review. He is not well liked... But he made my 06 wrx with vf39 and other supporting mods run GREAT.
No complaints, did everything pretty quick.
Just don't mess up with him he has been known to get mad haha.

The OTS maps will never be as detailed and efficient as a pro tune on a dyno. If you desire to have an ap, you will be able to change maps when desired (race, daily driving, economy, and so on). You'll pay per map. Or you can tune w/ op which you will not need an ap. You will inform the tuner on what your specific preferences and driving characteristics are and he'll comes as close as he can to fulfilling your request.
