Can you guys help me to find if that Sti has twin or not

Car is currently in Tahiti, and not sure if the dealer got that car in USDM, JDM or EDM...

I have a book that lists the VIN breakdowns for USDM Subarus 02-07 and GDFGLEH is not listed. Not sure if that helps but I don't think it is USDM.

It's definitely not USDM. It's European I believe so EDM. I believe they might have a special 2.5 STI version in the UK area... "Type UK" I don't think it's twin scroll though. Still trying to hunt down some information.

According to the VIN and engine type, it is USDM and its a 2006 model iirc. I think you mean GDB-F??

I still can't confirm that the UK (EDM) cars got twinscroll turbos since they are using a 2.5L STI engine rather than the 2.0 JDM counterpart is. Further The EDM versions did NOT get the DCCD 6MT until 2005. Since this engine/chassis is a 2005 model I'd say it's POSSIBLE it could be twinscroll but if JP is not releasing the DCCD versions to the UK when JP has them it could mean the turbo is different as well.

The car is an 2006 STi, have the DCCD in.


When the car was for sale at the dealership in Tahiti, I asked if it is the JDM one.
Dealer said say yes directly from Japan, but didn't JDM only made in EJ20 and NOT EJ25?

So it is probably an EDM... I know UK and France share a lot of engine/chassis.
Like we have a a lot of Evo 8 260hp that were made only in UK

I'm asking twin or not because a friend bought it at the auction and want to get a manifold here in NZ, and we end up with the twinscroll problem.

Japan makes the engines so yes it's JDM but it's not sold in the JDM market. It is made for the EDM market only. see the part number and information I posted in my post.

ok, but still can't find any info on what type of scroll.

The only twin scroll turbos from Subaru were the VF37 which were found on the JDM V8-V9 Subaru Impreza WRX STI, and the VF38 found on the JDM Legacy GT.

Only Japan got the good stuff.

Isn't the VF36 also a twin scroll?
