Dude can't drive

Listen to the WRX, he was short shifting it.
Not that the Neon wasn't pumped or anything, but I don't think the WRX driver was a very good representative for the Suby community.

WTF?

DaveWRX 03-01-2003 12:13 PM

Ok, no way. Re-match...

What was he shifting like 2k below redline?!?!? What a moron, anyone seen the srt-4s here yet? Be interesting once they come to the track, whoever races stock vs stock first please hand them their ass... =)

WRX:
hp: 227 @ 6000
tq: 217 @ 4000
wt: 3085lbs

SRT4:
hp: 215 @ 5400
tq: 245 @ 3200
wt: 2970lbs

Thats a hell of a lot more torque lower too, hmm...

So its lighter and has more torque, but its gay and its a Neon. You make your choice. =)

ImprezaRSX 03-01-2003 02:50 PM

yeah that's some race winnin' torque there.... or sumthin'

gpatmac 03-01-2003 03:14 PM

We can speculate and measure numbers on paper all day long. We need to wait until someone brings one down to the strip where they too can suffer the same conditions as us. One or two or seven of us will have measured 'cranks' with an SRT out on the highway, too.

What is the big deal, anyhow. LS1's and Cobras are faster than the stock WRX but no one's up in arms about that. There's a pickup truck that's faster than the WRX, too. WooooHoo!!! What's the difference between a Dodge Neon that some schmoe makes turboed vs. the Daimler/Chrysler doing it?

Oh yeah,
:):):)

BoOm 03-01-2003 04:13 PM

you forgot to mention the wrx only has ~168awhp due to the parasidic awd drivetrain while the srt is above 200 because its just fwd.
honestly, i don't give a flying rat ass about the SRT's. Any company can make a car that can hand the WRX their ass. I just don't really care, more ricers gonna buy the SRT-4 because its faster, go ahead, less ricer WRX's on the road for us.

that video is ghey.

i didn't even hear the wrx's motor, but I could hear the neon's.

but that car isn't a slouch by any means, it's gonna hold it own, .... but it's still a neon. :p

ImprezaRSX 03-01-2003 04:54 PM

it would get more respect if it was a 215 HP AMC Pacer, because
"It's still a neon!"
