Just recieved notification of assignment to Hickam on Thursday!!! Should be around Aug-Sep time frame, cant wait! I havnt really been on here in a long while, just checking in since I heard this was the spot for Subys in Hawaii.
Ill be coming from AZ, just not sure if Ill be able to bring both Subys or if I want to yet. Looking forward to new experiences and new friends!

Definitly worth paying the $$$ to ship a car you already a rocking out here. Good job coming here first. There are a ton of subies here that dont know of I-Club and thus mainly roll with the (not neccessarily) wrong crews. I-Club is close knit, family friendly, and full of knowledge.

1K doesnt sound too bad as apposed to having to buy another ride too, just worried about corrosion. How is housing and the commute to Hickam? Any other tips/advice would be great too, thanks!

Some have garages but it's privatized you can pretty much live any where navy army or af housing. Don't know how long the waiting list is

 

Hows the local housing off-base?

 

On base they have a lot of new communities my suggestion would be to stay there especially if you like your amenities

 

What he said... I live 19 mikes aka 20 minutes no traffic hour with traffic.

 

Base housing FTW. All new, all nice. Plus, a house on the outside is $2500+/month in rent.

 

OUCH! lol Yeah might be the way we go.... Hows the gas prices/quality of gas? Our 91 here is pretty crappy...
