You ruined that tire because you were plowing and probably trying to carry to much corner speed I've did it before and I think that's what I was doing but the last time I kept turning at the correct point and using my brakes correctly or at the correct time and my tires hardly showed any wear they just looked scuffed.

Well I took the turns slow, except for a few laps when I couldn't slow down enough because my brakes were too hot. The problem was on the first turn no matter how slow I turned my tires broke loose and I started drifing because my rear swaybar is so tight and I am still running the front one stock. So yeah I was plowing through that turn because of the drifting.

In other words, there's nothing wrong with Goodyear tires, you just need to learn to drive better. Take that from someone who has open-tracked a WRX wagon on stock suspension for 2 days at Summit Point (longer, faster track than the crappy little track out here) on RE92s with no issues (other than lots and lots of howling from the tires). If you over-drive the car, you'll ruin any tires, I don't care what brand they are.

What Goodyears do you have on the car, anyway?

PS - Oh, and I will probably not be there this weekend, as my boat's schedule is changing and it looks like this weekend is going to be busy with work.

Pat, you need to get off so us Subi Guys can represent.

As for the tires, I have to agree about over driving them. I made a set of V700's last 19 races w/ still tread left and this includes fun runs.

Yeah, we all have to start somewhere. For me, a red flag goes up when I read a post by a guy who's new to open tracking in which he says he couldn't slow down enough because the brakes were going away, and so he was plowing through corners. That should only happen once, because after it happens that one time you should realize (1) I need to come off the gas earlier and/or not even go to WOT, (2) I need to brake earlier, and (3) if I'm still coming in too hot, I'm just gonna go straight down the drag strip instead of wasting my tires trying to make the corner.

Definitely a disadvantage of the small track/small organization - no instructors to ride along. With an instructor in the car with you, I can pretty much guarantee you wouldn't have demolished that tire because he would have reined you in when he saw you over-driving the car.

Hopefully you've learned a lesson, unfortunately you learned it the hard way. I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm just telling you how it is.
