Pimp my Ride
I was in Kailua late last night, and parked in a metered garage. As i returned to my car, there was an old man prolly in his 60's or 70's talking to the two security guards. As I drive towards them to exit the garage, he blasts his wheelchair in front of me and askes me where I got my exhaust. I said, i dunno, seattle? He said, "Youy didn't get it here?" I said no. then he asked me who installed it. I said it's not that hard to install, i did it. Then he said, "what is it"? I told him an Espelir. He said what's that. I told him a japanese brand. He asks me what's good. So all this time i'm wondering why he's asking me all this questions, since he probably doesn't drive, hence the wheelchair. He asks me where is good. I told him to go see the guys at exhaust systems hawaii in kailua. He said, " oh good, i know the guy there, he's done 20 of my mustangs, i used to be a cop". Or a police sargent, i forget what he said. So I'm thinking, if you went there 20 times, they must have earned your trust. He asked me again what's good. I'm thinking Borla, since he has experience with american cars. Now here's the funny part.
He asks me what's a good exhaust for our "oriental" cars, since he has a hyundai sonata tha he wants to "bling out"!!!!! OMG!!!!! I had to fight the laughter, as he thinks that his hyundai will sound like our boxer subaru's with a simple axleback added to his car??? Also, WTF is an "oriental" car? That sounds extremely naievete and racist. I told him good luck with it, i didn't want to be mean and laugh at him, since he was old in a wheelchair. But yeah that was my experience last nite. OK sorry so long. I also thought it is funny, since i posted that pic of the hyundai a few weeks back with the sti hood and wing conversion.
