He was my friend. Investigation is pretty much concluded; he passed on from a coronary while we were out conducting what we call a a 'suck-ex' (Suck Exercise, meaning a day of tremendously grueling training).
Yeah, we're not in Iraq nor Afghanistan, but he most certainly would be the first guy a friend could count on under fire.
