Post new guy here

hey guys, i just bought a 03 wrx last week so still getting the hang of everything. anyways, heard a few good things about this forum so i figured that this would be a good place for me to start.

anyways, for my first project i'm gonna install a apexi turbo timer tomorrow. i got all the parts and found some instructions online but had a question about the alarm. would the alarm still function properly with the timer running? or would i have to program/wire something? i got a viper alarm installed right now.

any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! hope to get to know you guys sometime soon!

OK,

you won't be able to arm the alarm with the car running because the alarm will "see" that the car is running. The shop that installed my alarm installed a relay between the two so that the alarm couldn't "see" that the car was running.

Welcome to the boards! Your gonna have to do what San said about having a relay to trick your alarm.

progressive audio will do it for about $45 it's done within an hour. That's where I had mine done. Works great!

I also have the TT so make sure you buy a TT harness makes the job a lot easier. Then when your ready schedule an appointment with progressive!

Hope this helps

Special T Tinting does a lot of our systems and alarms. Just let em know you are an i-Clubber and they will treat you right. Efran will most likely do the install...
