Unhappy Need help...

Well this is what happened. I was driving on the freeway and on 5th gear and all of the sudden it just slipped and heard a grinding noise. I thought i just accidently knocked it out of gear so i drove on when it did it again. At that point i thought i was just driving really bad so thought nothing of it. When i was driving home with my friend, i told him about the problem but he didn't believe me so i showed him and sure enough it did the same then. I was heading to the bar and almost there when i took the school st exit when the car just died out and felt like all four wheels locked up and a just skidded. Luckly i didn't hit nothing and no cars were there at the time. I tried starting up the car and putting it into gear to drive off but the car didn't move at all. Tried putting it into reverse but still nothing. I even tried to put it into neutral and pushing the car onto the side but i think all four wheels were really locked. I called the tow truck to come and tow the car to my friends house since he wouldn't be able to tow it to my house. Then two cops came and was asking all these questions. Luckly they were cool, one cop actually showed me a game on his labtop where you learn how to launch your car. That was pretty funny. Well now my car is not drivable at all and this really really sucks. If anybody has any advice please or can help me out in anyway please let me know. Last night was the worst night. My car broke down, lost in darts, spent my lunch money for next week on beer. lol

yeah i kinda just laughed at him at him and said cool...didn't wanna give him a reason to tag my car. lol. so i checked the car and found out that either the dude before or the subaru by the airport forgot to put the dipstick back for the trans fluid. we tried to drain the trans fluid and there was like 5 drops of fluid left and we found some metal shards on the magnet plug. i think the trans is f*cked. not exactly sure yet, we tried jacking up the car and turning the wheels and it moves. it's weird. if anybody can help let me know. i still don't know if that's it or not. and if it is then i won't be driving for a long time. money's pretty tight this time of year.

Aww man, that sucks big time.

Running without trans fluid can wreak havoc, but did big chunks appear on the stick? I would say to try fulling er up with oil and see if the car can even move, but I wouldn't want you to cause more damage. Since you said all four tires were locked, it doesn't sound very good. Even if the tires spin now, irreversable damage probably occured to cause the tires to lock.

Sorry but I dunno what to say

Well even if the tranny is messed up the car would start. Unless the car is stuck in gear, and the clutch petal is basically not doing anything now then the car should start. If the car doesn't start then it is something more than just the tranny. That is just my guess. Check all of the hoses under the hood, and check the I/C hoses for sure.

^^Nate, it sounds like the car starts but he can't get the transmission to turn the wheels.

Try opening up the tranny case and checking the internals...you'll probably find something really nasty but salvageable.

How long ago did you buy it? Perhaps lemon law?

Hey,
Happy Holidays just the same to you sir. I read the problem to Braun and he stated to me that you should bring the car in.

Aloha,

Nino
