Doesn't it still have to be bolted somewhere? I have brackets but haven't even began to test for and look at my options for good solid mounting locations.

Yeah, but bolting it in is easy. Just stick it back in the rear cargo space somewhere, run some line under the carpet with an air fitting and done. Or make a Y brace for the rear struts with some QR's and attach it to that. Easy to install for race day and pull it out when you need the space.

use while on course of liquids, ice, dry ice, refrigeration systems,
vaporized compressed gases, etc. to reduce the temperature of
the intake air charge is prohibited. Wrapping of intakes with liquidsoaked
fabric is not permitted.
But that does say "on course" and it's for SP. For ST classes, I don't believe you can use anything to cool the intake charge even in the pits.

The only thing I could find is that it should be mounted securely. I don't know about you, but a pressurized canister rolling around at all might be dangerous to you and your car.
