oooh ouch!

not to flame but NEVER USE VISE GRIPS!!
as for your problem try drilling, dremel with a cutting wheel, hell use a vice grip again.....if your lucky and its one of the double sided treaded bolts than that will loosen up off the turbo side and come out than all you have to do is replace that and the nut as for the two top ones cut them or drill them out. oh yeah and use a liquid wrench also next time if you didnt the first

goodluck

Please don't tell me you used a 12 point socket and stripped it.

Anyways, like 4080 wrote...at this point you gotta try all options...that's not a good one to strip.

Go to sears...they have this thingie that takes off rounded off nuts...lol I wrote rounded off nuts.

1. if the nut that's stripped is on one of the turbo studs, then stop and don't try anything. you may shear the stud which will be a pain to fix.
2. if the nut is one of the top 2 bolts of the turbo, then cut the bolt with a cutoff tool and replace the nut and bolt with a new one (you can pick up a replacement at any hardware store.
3. go to sears and get a bolt-out set. like bpang1 said, they remove rounded nuts.
4. do not use vice grips, they'll probably make the situation worse.

pm me if you need help. i'll see what i can do.

Smile

thank you so much for the suggestions. really appreciated i-club love grows more and more for me .

GREG and WRXed-Ok the nut thats stripped is the one most to the right (when looking from the front of the car over the turbine) thats on the welded stud on the turbo. ohh and im trying to take off the stock dp.

4080-I think im gonna go to sears asap and get those bolts. its so frustrating that nut is the only thing stopping me i took off the rest of the nuts and bolts off.

open to more suggestions. if all else fails anyone welcome to try for themselves...please... thanks for all the replys much suby love...

also, get some wd-40, liquid wrench, etc to lube the bolts before taking them off. let them soak for 30 minutes, then try again.
