Talking ECU reset = significant improvement at the track!

I only managed to get one run in tonight between dinner and Mother Nature screwing up my plans, but it was a good one. Before I went to the track I reset my ECU, something I hadn't done in quite a while. With all the mods I have done my ECU seems to get pretty confused - I saw some pretty strange changes in my AFR on the wideband O2 sensor when I dyno'd the car a few times in Massachusetts.

Anyway, the past couple times I went to the strip I managed a best of 15.473 @ 87.39mph with a 2.078 60' time. My ETs were all over the place, depending on how good/bad my launches were, but the trap speeds were pretty consistent - probably about 87mph average over 16 runs.

Well, on my one run tonight I ran...
RT ............ 0.448 (oops )
60' .......... 2.198 (about average for me, gotta work on that)
1/8 ......... 9.856 @ 71.64mph
1/4 ......... 15.361 @ 89.49mph

Over 2mph improvement! The only downside is that I only got that one run, so I can't say for certain it was legit or if the timing equipment just hooked me up. I think it was legit, because if it was the timing equipment, then two individual circuits had to have been screwed up on the same run, which seems unlikely. My 1/8mi trap speed was also about 2mph faster than the 11 runs I did during my last night at the track.

One of these days I'll have to figure out some sort of aftermarket engine management for this thing so I can really get it to work right. For now, though, I'm pretty happy. I'll have to be sure to reset the ECU before my next trip to the track to see if I can repeat the results.
