The heat shield does exactly as the name suggests...shields the rest of the engine bay from the heat that's produced by the turbo. Because it's of no use to you right now, you might as well remove it.

PTP Turbo Blankets - (512) 490-6494

my stock heat shield was pretty much unusable after turbo/dp/up..etc upgrades, thus i got a turbo blanket; keeps the underhood temp's in check. no melting things in your engine bay.. is bad for the car and your wallet

Downpipe heatshield and turbo heat shield are completely different components.

you can use a big hose clamp to clamp it down...they sell the long hose clamps at napa

or remove downpipe and tack weld it back on....

ohh lol maybe i should read before posting :/

agreed with both tackwelds and hose clamps

or take it off all the way by cutting it up and wrap everything with exhaust wrap, then spray it with silicone sealant. works even better than stock metal shielding.

will your car blow up? no. will you notice a difference? no. do you still have a stock downpipe? iirc no. i think i only looked at your car for a minute but as i recall you have a full turboback and most is not all aftermarket downpipes don't have a heatshield. i think what you mean is that the UP-pipe heatshield is the one causing the rattle. you have a couple of options; replace it with an aftermarket one, remove and weld it, or as Houdni said you can get a small piece of heat wrap and jam it in the gap then use a worm clamp to hold it tight.
