Well, it's really the Central Oahu Regional Park in Waipio. I was there today playing a nice and quiet afternoon of tennis with the family. We were at the parking lot side so I could see that there is a car cruise going on with about 30 or more import cars.
When they were about to leave, a couple of cars started burning out creating a lot of smoke going into the 20 tennis courts, which is packed with players at that time. Being a car enthusiast that I am, I went outside to watch the melee. A nicely moded s2000 and a g35 were drifting (yes, drifting) at the round-about, some civics and a honda odyssey van was burning out...and yes, saw a couple of fellow subie's also joining the chaos, a white bugeye with cf trunk and a silver 06-07 wrx with some red decals on the side.
Of course the guys at the tennis courts who couldn't breath called the cops, and before you know it everyone started scrambling as soon as the cops came.
What a shame that I, including my kids witnessed this in the middle of the day. I know that we needed a raceway park but these inconsiderate actions of these individuals negatively affects public opinion.
I just thought I'd share....

 

stupid people should not be allowed to breed. Or stupidity is like a std it can spread like wild fire. People always try to race me when I got my son in the back seat. Last time it was a '92-'95 4 dr primer gray civic with cut springs a APC type exhaust system.

 

I wholeheartedly agree.
A lot of us already know that Oahu is in desperate need of a motorsports facility... but this definitely isn't the way to go about showing that.

yea i just saw the white bugeye with the cf trunk going by my house. i hope the cops were able to get a few of the troublemakers.

 

i saw the cops talking to some of the guys at the parking lot...so i'm not sure if they actually issued tickets...

 

I think he's with Team Showcase..You guys remember seeing him at the EWA starbucks meeting right when Jarrad was down here...

 

yup, i saw team showcase decals on some of the cars...damn walter, you must have been there with your invisible cloak!

oh yeah, i forgot, the blue g35 who was trying to drift with the s2000 spun out of control, almost hitting the tree. his car died out and was trying hard to start it...meanwhile, the cops started rolling in...

 

hahaha, I had my invisible cloak on my subie so thats how I am the "silent sedan!! Yup, seen that to...Irresponsible fools if you ask me!!

 

this is going to make for an interesting Sunday morning gathering prior to the cruise...



maybe we should think about relocating the gathering area at Keehi Lagoon...it has always been tame there during the cruise gatherings of the past...

 

^^ there are always lots of burn out sessions at that park.

If your not causeing trouble no one calls the cops. If i remember correctly wasn't last year summer cruise start point there? i don't see any problems as long as there are no other cruise's there acting a fool

 

yeah, this is what i'm worried about. maybe it's a good idea to have an alternate location, huh?

 

track or not, its going to happen regardless. And I agree it is sad.

and Keehi lagoon, that area is swarming with the sheriff dept. but i doubt that early but who knows, just be careful.
