Brake Problem
well, my brake pads are almost gone, so its time to change brakes, but i don't know what to do, i would love the saftey and insurance that a big brake kit would give, but don't know if i really should spend the money on them? right now, i'm sponsored by Rotora, and Endless, trying to decide which one should i go with, both sponsorships are not free, but at cost, which i'm not giong to disclosed, but all i can say is Endless is twice as much as Rotora O_O what do you guys think, should i get rotora four pot with a two piece front kit, or should i get a wilwood 6 pot(which i havent hear too much good stuff about) for a little bit cheaper, and i don't have to put a huge ass sticker on my car since i can get it through my dealer?? oh yeah, if i go with rotora, i gotta sign a contract for a year too :(
oh yeah i DO plan to go to scca and track days right after i get my tire sponsorship |
you don't need a brake upgrade if you do not plan to "USE" the brake kit if you know what I'm saying...
If you get the brake upgrade do you plan on doing track days...etc.? You really have to weight out your options on what your going to be doing with the car to determine how much money and what type of kit you'll be getting. If money weren't an option I'd get the endless kit... But if you just want a fas upgrade you could get better pads and see how you like it. If that is still not enough then you could go with the most inexpensive option on your poll and go with the wilwood F/R kit. Unfortunately from what I've HEARD (don't know for sure... you'll have to ask Ralph (Push2) for a for sure answer) they don't use the entire stopping surface of your rotors. Jon |
well, i do plan to go to track days often right after i get my tires, and quit dragging since stickier tires are not so good for my tranny, well, i could expend some of my money into a big brake kit, and plus it would be a plus for a car show also, rotora is affordable, but i would have to sign a year contract with them and plus i would have to also put their sticker on my front windsheild also. but the prices they are giving me are pretty much at cost, and i think it will come with four set of brake pads also...

supposedly i'm getting the highest award sponsorship that Endless offers(they don't give free sponsorships with the exception of RJ devera) but the front 6 pot kit alone is more than the rotora 6 pot front and 4 pot rear!
|
so who is the three people that put brake pads? nm! i just talked to loren at rotora and i got a hella good deal!!! i'm getting my bbk next week!!!!!!!! ohh yeah and thanks to the people who posted up, all 1 of you
|
hehehe... id get Brembos but since they prolly arent one of ur sponsors, id say Wilwood. Ive heard good things about their brakes so thats the way id go.
But Brembo Gran Turismo's are excellent too... :) |
Wilwoods are a crap to put on. good luck if you get these! I drive the crap out of my car and I'm running stock. My suggestion is to upgrad your pads and go with stainless steel lines. This is more than enough stopping power for an STI.

i have a 2002 wrx, i already have stoptech rotors, lines and pads, but the pads are running out, and i enjoy it, but i like the insurance of having a big brake kit, and since i'm sponsored by rotora or endless, i'm trying to make a descion, endless is too expensive, most likley rotora
|
so you're going with rotora's ?
|
Get Project Mu or Endless.
|
i voted endless because although there may be a limit to the financial side of it... the "possibilities are endless" . heheh just messing with you dude. i say get some really good pads until one of them "sponsors" can actually help u out more.

OT: if you signed for a one year contract...what would they make you do?
photoshoots, shows and what-nots? |
yup, actually rotora , well, as for the contract, talked it over with loren at rotora, hes a very friendly and cool guy, he says i would have to keep it on for one year, and rep their team sticker on their front windsheild and pass out brochures at shows? hehe thats bout it, lets just say there theres a lot of extras which i won't disclose... besides that, i plan to go to the track days soon after i finish up my tire deal. so far i've been running my stoptech rotors and lines and axis ultimate brake pads for a year now, its been doing good on daily driver(a lot of stupid drivers out there) truthfully, its been very good, i like it, i just feel the need to go a step higher. i've also heard that project MU were good, but don't know the folks down at mackin industries(supplier of project mu) as for brembos, i heard that they provide the same calipers for endless, but with just hte endless stamp ontop of a brembo caliper? and stoptech/rotora, but, this is not only a sponsorship, but establishing an early relationship for my future plans....

I want your pads!
