For all you 17x8 or 17x8.5 on Impreza's

Hey guys,

Ok heres the deal, I been wanting to go wider,so from a starting poing of 6.5 and now 7.5!! I want to go 8.5 in width and still keeping the 17'' size, for all you guys who know me already.I sitting on stock height!! I doubt I will be getting rubbing issues when i go 8.5 with a 20mm drop but seen one guy with his '05 STi on stock suspension with slight moderate rubbing issues on 17x8.5.. So anyone here with 17x8.5 on a subtle drop, please if possible to share your experience both good and bad..

you may or may not. depends on the wheel offset and tire size. if anything you can roll your fenders....or get coils

my 05 is lowered w/ coils and i run 235's on 17x8s on the street without any rubbing. i'm even looking to go wider and get 245s for the street and possibly 275s on 17x9 for autox. remember to check the offset and also you may have to roll your fenders as extra protection against rubbing.

also, what size tires are you planning on getting for the 17x8.5? the tire size will also affect if you rub or not.

I'm on 17x8 on my stock height Impreza. But, it's a GC8. Does that count?
Rubs on hard corners. I think if I run 225s instead of 245s, it may be solve it... We'll see.
