Abs?

Is there an advantage of turning off the ABS system?

They say that the WRX abs is too agressive and sometimes on bumpy surfaces, it disengages the brakes a little too much. That caused alot of owners to post about how to take it off, thus allowing you to manually lock the brakes and flat spot your tires every time you really mash the pedal. Me, I don't know crap, so I can't say much, but it seems like people are doing okay with it on...

Thumbs up

I'm not super track guy or anything, but I like my ABS.

I wouldn't turn mine off.

turning off abs = for a little while and maybe A Lot of later on.

It seems to vary car to car. Mine would sometimes try and kick in at the absolute Worst times!! Scary!! I was going to install a switch and see how I liked it, but then I sold my car. If you decide to try it out, BE CAREFUL, especially if you've never driven a car without ABS before.

If you don't have a problem, don't try and "fix" anything.

Well, I beg to differ Shin...you obviously DO KNOW CRAP! Your top finishes say so! Anyways, just a few upgrades to the WRX braking system will help with any of the "negatives" of ABS. I agree with others here...leave the ABS alone & concentrate on driver input (on street & track). Flat-spotting tires is not fun...not to mention feeding the "BEAST" of HRP!
