Wolfshead Oil
Just curious, I know the Wolfshead name has been around for quite some time, and now I think Amalie owns them. They do have a 100% synthetic oil that sells for $63.71 for a 12 quart case. I'm thinking that's the price for a 6 quart case. If it's true and that is the price for a 12 quart I wonder if anyone knows anything about this oil and if it's any good. It is not the "fully synthetic"(only has to be 12% synthetic) but the "100% synthetic".
Apologizing in advance for bringing up any motor oil topic, not asking if synthetic is better just if anyone has tried this stuff.:croc: |
For $10 a quart (if only 6 quarts) that is really expensive. I would look at another oil for that price.

12 qts $71.40 more than you thought but less than $10/qt :) |
Anyone have an update on the wolfshead 100% synthetic oil?

It looks to be a thin 30 grade - probably avoid, or do very short OCI's with UOAs. Pennz Ultra to keep your warranty or do the buy-copy recpt.-return-buy rotella T6 trick. How much per qt. is this stuff?
http://www.wolfshead.com/specsheets/pcmo.pdf Funny, they claim on the front of the bottle to be good for diesels, but dont have a "CJ" rating (back of bottle view not available on their site; does state SN and GF-5 for gas cars). BITOG seems to think its OK, cheap oil; probably NOT good for your turbo subie (without testing). |
