Squeaking from center console
 

I have a 2011 STI sedan, i have owned it since new, never raced it, nor do i drive like an ass. about 2 months ago, i started hearing a squeaking noise coming from somewhere in the car. i have narrowed it down to the center console/shifter. has anyone else had this issue? how did you fix it?

never heard of such issue. but you do have shifter linkages down there that could have gotten rusty or wet? thats the only thing i can think of under the center console. center diff maybe. GL!

It happens when not under power, over light bumps. I'm gonna check my shifter linkages this weekend.

***UPDATE***

I just got the car back from my local Subaru dealership, (didn't want to do the work) and they found the rear shifter link bolt had backed out about 1 inch. They tightened it up (under warranty) and now no squeak and it shifts like its brand new!!!

glad it wasnt anything major like DCCD. small 10mm loose bolts that cause huge headaches, no fun
