DIY: Paint wheels

1. Remove the center caps
2. Tape and cover wheel weights 3. Clean and degrease everything thoroughly 4. Sand the inside with 200 grit paper 5. Wipe with a cloth 6. Tape the lug hole areas 7. Mask the tires and valve-stems 8. Then line up your index cards 9. Primed the inside with 2 coats of self etching primer 10. Primed everything with primer/filler 11. Sand everything with 200 grit paper again 11. Wipe with a cloth again 13. Spray on 2 coats of (choose your color) Wheel Paint 14. Sand with 800 grit paper 15. Spray on 2 more coats of (choose your color) Wheel Paint 16. Spray on 3 coats of Duplicolor wheel clear coat 17. Nice job.
One thing I might actually recommend is also masking the spots where the lugs seat. Paint on there can chip and allow the lugs to loosen. |
