Radiator Bleeder Valve?
 

I recently replaced my radiator and upper radiator hose on my 05 forester XT, along with installing a new thermostat. After running for a while, the temp gauge in-car shoots up to the red, and after turning on the air to hot, no hot air comes out (lukewarm at best). I think I have an air bubble in my system and I am looking for the air bleeder hose/valve. Any idea where it is or what it looks like?

I suggest using one of these to get all of the air bubbles out and refilling coolant as necessary.

Ran car with the radiator cap off for quite some time, forced (burped) some bubbles out, and once the thermostat kicked in (vigorous bubbling out of radiator) I then tried the heat and it was not hot, and thats when gauge in car began rapidly climbing to the red. [I] [/I]

Keep the radiator cap on. Remove the upper coolant tank cap, the one next to the turbo, and install the tool above (from the link). Run the engine with the heater on full blast and let the engine burp it self.

You can do this without the above tool, it just gets a little messy cause the coolant will spill out. Have a lot of rags/towels handy if you choose this way.
