Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Smile NA Engine Power

What is a good set of engine power adders for a 2006 2.5i?

i.e. cams, lightened pistons, lightened cranks, intakes, intake headers, throttle body (bodies), exhaust headers, cat-backs, ECU's, etc.

Its a Daily Driver, and I want to keep it NA so don't post anything about turbos.

any info is good info, I'm fairly new to subaru tuning.

Yeah SOHC, and, unfortunately, an automatic transmission. I'm thinking of just a little better performance, if I could crank out about 200+ NA I'd be happy. Even if anyone has any suspension components that would be great.

Well, I was thinking bolt-ons for the time being, then when the time (and money) is right I was thinking of cracking the block open for the internals.

You really think just a header is going to make my car louder? It really wouldn't matter I am from ND where nothing really matters, but I still want it all to be a clean install. Do you really think 200 whp would be hard to do when i just have to make 23 or so more HP? Lightweight everything and some good tuning. I think that would be fairly easy, even with just bolt-ons.

im not gonna say its impossible to get 200 whp but its gonna be veryyyy hardd.. our cars stock have 172 i belive but thts not whp thts to the flywheel... soo we really only have about 130-140 to the wheels.. for instance take a stock 06 sti it has 300 hp but of tht it only has 240 whp.. idk how much power you'll get but a couple of things you can do is get an intake give you abt 3-5hp, (i have a injen cai i love it its pretty loud when you step on it) a catback exhaust 5hp, lightweight pullies depending on which ones you get anywhere from 6-12 hp and a borla header abt 4hp.. all of that and a tune youll be likely to hit 180-190whp our cars are n/a and only v4 soo its kind of difficult to gain a decent amount of hp from these parts.. with all of this the car will be pretty fast!! i run civic si's all the time and from a roll its very close bcz they shift at 7400 or w.e but from a dig with the awd i bet them by 1-2 cars nooo problem..keep me posted on what you do i might have to put all this in my car haha..by the way some websites where you can get parts are subysolutions(i got my cai there) and boxer4racing.com(they have a cat back borla headers and pulleys on tht website) good luck hope i helped you out

+1 for subaru 914..... he is very right when you buy a car the give you sae hp... not whp... which is very different.... like he said it will be hard.... i would concentrate on suspension mods and some looks for now.... looking into a few turboes but not sure... try premium gas it will give you an octane boost and burn higher... but subaru 914 has it on point..... and yes go on youtube and look up our cars with headers.... your not gonna get a ton of horsepower but you are gonna get the boxer rumber that everyone looks for

ok...yeah my bad maybe I meant 200 HP not 200 WHP.

Now I know about the boxer rumble and how it sounds but wouldn't Unequal Length Headers restrict flow, there for, tie up horsepower. Or can you get the Boxer rumble with Equal Length Headers?

2 hp here and 2 hp there will add up in the end.

Hey,

What's up, I was thinking about doing the same thing to my car (06 Impreza 2.5i auto) . It's going to hard and going take some time (also money) but, worth it. But here is a website and a link that might or should give you some ideals.

Pace and good luck.

Just read the zzyzx motorsports link. What's with people using "TQ" as a unit measure of torque? Had to look at the itty bitty graph legend to find that it was Pound.Feet

Is this the norm in North America? TQ = Pound Feet

Sure...TQ is normally ft lbs. in North America. I just normally see ft. lbs. as torque as opposed to NM or In. Lbs. hence ft. lbs. is easier abbreviated TQ.

clear as mud?
