I was thinking of either puting a wrx hood or a Seibon carbon wrx like hood. I have 2 questions on this matter :

1) Do you think its inappropriate for a non turbo to have a hood scoop? Is this ricer-ish?

2) Would having a hood scoop on a NA engine actually cause engine damage because of all the rain that would go on the engine?

2.) i doubt it...the 2.5rs had a scoop and even vents at one point so water was getting in there...

i love the 2.5rs hood i just wish someone made one in the '06-'07 style

heh if i was good with carbon fiber i would so make one and start selling them...but alas...i have never even worked with carbon fiber so i can't even fab one up...but i think i know someone who might be able to help me

 

I think if the scoop was on par with wrx then it wouldn't be all that ricer-ish, but if you went with an exagerated scoop then i'd have to call you out

and don't forget the old NA's had scoops

y need a hood scoop when there is no need for one? it will just make ppl think ur a wanabe/ricer.. beside if u want to hav it, y dont u buy the wrx ...with more power? and the scoop?.. i think is ricish to do that.. no offence

 

except subie did put scoops on non-turbo imprezas...so how is that ricey? imo if the company does it to their own cars...then it is not rice by any means

 

i think it's a bad idea. i mean, we all like the wrx scoop, but we don't have top mounts, so don't get it =]

 

are you serious? i WANT to have an sti, why dont i go buy one? because i cant afford it man. but other than that i really just like the look. i havent decided yet if its worth putting one on though just for the look. didnt they used to come stock on the n/a's? but i have to agree with pope 06 for the fact that we dont have the top mounts so performance wise it doesnt really help. i guess it just depends on what the driver likes

 

meh i wouldn't put an STi/WRX hood scoop on...i really like the LGT scoop better...it's very stealthy looking...if i was to get a hood for my car it would be with a scoop like that

lol hey if you took my idea...you could turn the scoop into an intake...and i actually have a design for it...but im not lazy to attempt it, that and the ECU might freak out with that much air at high speeds...just a thought
