WRX and STi 2.5 turbo, why difference in output? (was: Need a bit of info...)
I noticed on the Subaru website that the current WRX has a 2.5 Turbo Boxer Engine, and the older versions of the WRX have a 2.0
What makes this engine different from the STi and how come the WRX has lesspower while having the same engine size?
Is the new engine upgrade friendly and do sti parts fit on it...
Can you guys give me some info on this, because I would like to get a WRX...
Thx.

I moved your thread to the technical forums and you should get some answers to your questions.
off the top of my head, the STi and the WRX 2.5 share the same displacement, but have different internals and tuned differently from the factory.
not too sure about bolting up the STi parts, I would assume so, but I am sure someone can chime in here about it.
also, don't forget to visit the Sacramento/Reno forum

In a wrx I would go for a good size turbo(sz55, green, gt30), injectors, feul pump, full exhaust, possible front mount intercooler, custom tune(dbtuned, gst, that ed guy) a full compliment of gauges would be a good idea. Also start saving up for a new transmission if you plan on being really aggressive with you driving. your also going to want to run a more aggressive suspension and brake set-up.
estimated price for the power is about 3500-5000.
brake from 170-2000
suspension 700-3000
transmission 2600-5000
