I'm looking to upgrade my turbo and need some help. What is the best turbo out there to get with a top mount intercooler? I have an 07 sti with a stage 2 build and fully built internals.

 

There is no best. Tell us what you want and we'll make recommendation. Specifics are better. Don't give broad answers.

I clearly do know what I want, thank you. Like I mentioned I'm looking to get as much power as I can with a top mount intercooler. Meaning a turbo that will work with a top mount and provide the maximum power, I dont want to switch to front mount. Not sure what other specifics you're needing but I dont think a rude response is necessary.

Sure you do, that's why you gave the most generalized answer possible when asked specifically not to give an answers like that.

 

If I knew exactly what specific turbo I wanted then I wouldn't be posting on here asking for opinions and help. Wow I thought forums existed to be helpful. If you didnt want to offer any help then you didn't need to respond. This is my first time posting on here so thank you for showing me how the I-club forum works. If I have any more questions and want a sarcastic and rude answer and that offers no help I'll be sure to jump right back onto this forum.

 

What tmic? Stock?
What injectors? Stock?
What fuel pump? Stock?
What power are you looking to put down? Don't be a tard and say as much as I can
Externally waste gated? Internally?

If your answer to those first 3 are stock, don't touch your turbo

Your question is as broad as asking a bunch of groupies who their favorite band is. And lose the attitude.

The reason I asked in my very 1st post (offering help) for specifics, is because if you combined all of your wants in this thread together you've essentially posted:

You: Hi guys, I want a dog. Can someone tell me what the best dog is?
Me: Sure, tell us what exactly your expectations are.

You can't ask a broad question and get good answers. I told you exactly how to ask a question properly.

Until then, per my 2nd post, a GT42R can be run on a TMIC and it will produce a ****load of power.

 

Biggest turbo on a top mount intercooler i would say is the blouch 18gxt anything bigger than that you would need a fmic! First worry anout supporting mods inj, and fuel pump!! You have an 07 ? They are known to go BOOM so if your planning to get bigger be prepared you might end up rebuilding the motor
