Is the VF-39 worth polishing? I need to remove the turbo and port it anyway so is the 100 extra for a polish worth it....will I get any quicker spool?

the wastegate is already inefficient on the VF39, and you can only port it so much.
if you P&P the whole turbo, it will flow more, but the wastegate is still small and inefficient, and again, you can only port it so much.
I would just get the wastegate ported as much as possible.
Otherwise, just get a 16G or 18G and kiss the VF39 goodbye!

Why do you need to remove the turbo for Cobb Stage 2? What is your reason for wanting to port? Boost creep?
With Cobb Stage 2, no need to port anything and that includes the wastegate. The Cobb AP surprisingly controls any boost creep associated with a full catless TBE. People say there is no way EM can fix boost creep and the only way to do so is to port the wastegate. Untrue.

i am the man to talk to. Recent upgrade was the Helix up pipe/down pipe combo. With or without the Accessport, the check engine light and cruise control light will stay on. The car will run lean and the O2 sensor will go crazy.

dsmperformance it right a guy here had the Cobb DP, Blitz exhaust and has the Acess-Port on his STI and had zero problems so PnP is not always needed. If it were me I'd do the stg2 then see if the PnP is required. Just my $.02
