2005 STI dyno numbers
Here are my results.
it was 90 degrees and raining I'm running stock with a turboback exhaust http://www.streetcarforums.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=316910 http://www.streetcarforums.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=316911 My air/fuel was all F'ed up. I can't wait to get some engine management and head back up |
wow the dyno and a/f were all over the place...but those are some nice numbers from just a TBE...and for that temp too...was the a/f messed up because of the TBE?
|
I don't know but I was running dangerously lean. around 20 to 1. I'm trying to get an afc right now. The tuner said that with my air/fuel in order I should easily put down over 300. It drops below 10 to 1 for the majority of the power band so I know there is alot of room for improvement

Hmm that's it?! A local guy out here has an JDM Ver.7 motor, completely stock. He dyno'd 275whp and 275tq. I would think a USDM STi would make more.
|
stock usdm sti's put anywhere from 240 to 260 down.

J-Spec motors tend to me highly underrated, Lurk.
Think an R34 GT-R really has 276PS? Maybe at the wheels... |
also different dyno show different numbers. Hard to compare number between different dynos. I would say that even same dynos in different lcations /climate/humidity will show different numbers. They are mostly tuning tools. Did you get a baseline dyno run before you added the turbo back?
Plus how many miles do you have on your car. Is it broken in? Regards Nick |
no, I didn't get a baseline. There is a guy that works at the shop that has an sti (stock) and he said his put down 265 hp. As you can see, my air/fuel ratio is what is hindering me. I don't know what threw it out of whack like that but that is most likely why I didn't pull closer to 300.
