Oakos Downpipe Good/OK/Not Good?

I want to remove one more cat before I get dyno tuned and the oakos dp is in a good price range. ( I normally wouldn't be picky about price, but I have a baby on the way, so spending has to slow down) Does anyone have this and can give feed back please.

thanks in advance

By the looks of it the dp is similar to the HKS one. I'm sure it fits and bolts fine. It is not a bellmouth or twin dump design so you don't gain as much performance as either of thos styles. But for the money its about the same price as the HKS if not a little more expensive. my .02

So I want to at least get a bell mouth to see reasonable gains. There was another dp I wa s looking at that is a twin dump/divorced waste gate. I may go with that. Thanks

I would say if you're on a budget, the difference between a bellmouth and the stock-like plate is almost negligible (unless you're getting a bigger turbo). I have had nothing but great experiences with Oakos, David is a great guy and they have insanely good customer service.

The other option is the Bosal DP, which is very nice, and has a divorced wg tube. Cheap too.

I agree. I had a HKS downpipe on my car (flat flange) and have since replaced it with a bell-mouth dp and there wasn't that much of a difference, these dps removed both cats.

With the stock 3rd cat in place I'd think the difference between the two flange designs would be less. If you're gonna keep the last cat and just want a downpipe, the flange design on the Oakos isn't gonna make that much of a difference and they (Oakos) are great to do business with.

Stromung is a cheap option, only $25 more than the Oakos and it's twin dump.

THe oakes is a good choice if you never plan on upgrading your turbo, otherwise i would defiantly go with a 3inch bellmouth or devorced wastegate downpipe. THe main thing is that you are geting rid of the restrictive cat which will open up some good hp.

Thanks all. I dont plan on upgrading the turbo so it sounds like the oakas is the winner.

Got one on my car.... no problems and noticable hp gains. Dave is the best.

Im a little confused how much effect this DP will have if i upgrade to a larger turbo. I understand the whole bellmouth / wastgate deal ....but am unsure if this is really bad for a new turbo.... or will it just effect performance neglagibly....???

Blue baby. The only color a wrx should be. J/K. I got the greddy evo exhaust and vishnu stickers on the two rear windows. You can only see them when the windows are all the way up. I normally got them down when Im driving.

Hey, your not the one I saw tonight backing into a driveway, my car was parked in the street. The street down from the beacon on freedom? I was at my friends house.
