It should actually increase your gas mileage, although it takes a supreme effort of will to see this
. If i'm really nice to my car on a tank I get 4-5 mpg more than stock with my cobb stg 2 setup with uppipe. If anything, your gas mileage should stay the same or increase.

I have a cruicial uppipe, a bosal downpipe, and a magnaflow exhaust and I recored the worst gas mileage of my car ever a few days ago. 17 mpg. I've never seen such poor gas mileage from a 2.0 liter car. The highest I've ever seen from my car is just under 21 mpg. I know I usually don't drive in the most feul efficient manor but really... 17mpg? My buddy's suburban can get 16 if you try. Is this normal?

Well, think about it. On a turbo car when you free up the exhaust you are allowing more air to be forced into the engine. The ECU compensates by adding more fuel = worse gas mileage. Assuming comparable efficiency, more power will always mean worse gas mileage. That extra oomph has to come from burning more fuel. You might see better mpg under normal driving because the exhaust makes the engine more efficient, but when you floor it you can kiss that mpg goodbye.
