turbo problems?
i have an 02 wrx with about 25,000 miles on it. its lowered, rims, tires, intake, exhaust, blow-off, boost control, and a turbo timer. i turn up the boost from the factory setting two and a half turns and im having some problems and wanted to hear some thoughts on the matter....
when on the highway or whereever im getting on it, i'll downshift to third and floor it and midway through the powerband my car jerks real hard for about 5-10 seconds as if it is choking or something but its only when i get on it. please any help or suggestions would be great. it seems no one where i live can give me a definite answer. i love my car and want it to run well.i hope to have pics up in a few days!!!

Do you have a boost gauge? If not better get one ASAP as that is the only way to safely adjust an aftermarket boost controller. You can't just crank it up "a few turns" and take off. Chances are you are overboosting and the jerking is the ECU cutting fuel. Do you get a CEL when this happens?
To prevent any (or further) damage to your engine take it easy until you know how much boost you are actually running.

a boost gauge comes with the car and from i understand .05 is 7psi and i turned it up to halfway between .1 bar and .15 bar. is that too much boost on the factory turbo? should i invest in a digital boost gauge? what is a CEL?? any help would be great!!!

Incorrect. it's not in bar, it's MPa. The conversion is different. Your overboosting, turn it down.
.05 = 7.25
.06 = 8.70
.07 = 10.15
.08 = 11.60
.09 = 13.05
.10 = 14.50
.11 = 15.95
.12 = 17.40
CEL= Check Engine Light
The boost gauge doesn't automatically come with the car, it is an option. Apparently your car had one.
Yes that is way too much boost on the stock turbo and engine management. Keep it under 16 psi, 15 is probably the most you want to go.
