what to get????

So im about to get some new exhaust, and a axcess port V.2. So here are my choices;

. Cobb catless downpipe, Cobb upipe, ApexI N1 cat back.

. APS whole turbo back set up

. Jic exhuast with the cobb down pipe.

The problem I have, is that Ive always wanted to do cobb dp, and up, but I dont like there exhuast, so thats why I thought the Apexi N1 was a good choice Ive also heard alot about it to. Secound APS I know for a fact is a awsome set up. Third is that Im not a big fan of JIC.

Im not a big fan of the whole rice rocket angle out exhuast. I know the Apexi is isnt that bad, and the Jic as well, but evey time I think of "rice rocket' I think of Apexi exhuast. APS is just alot a money so I dont know I got till monday to decide so.

Ok, I hate to be "that guy" but it's spelled Access Port. ( with no "X") ;)

Cobb is a great company, makes great parts, and has great feedback. BUT, IMO they're waaaaay overpriced in parts. $400+ for a catless downpipe is just crazy....

I mean sure, if you got money to burn go for it, but you can buy some other DP's at half the price and are "just" as good. Try looking at Helix, Invidia, Titek, Megan, etc.

As for a catback(s), the Greddy Evo2 and Invidia G200 would be my top picks.

if you don't like "rice rocket exhausts" get a borla hush or a greddy evo. they're nice and quiet, don't look rice, and mate up to a cobb or helix dp. imho i agree with ^^ that cobb makes great stuff, but 400 dollars for a catless downpipe is ridiculous. you could buy a helix catted dp for that much and still pocket 70 dollars to put into the tuning fund. again, just my $.02 :).

I have run many different exhaust set ups on my old WRX and my current STi. I had the Apexi N1 and the fitment quality was crap. The 2 exhaust hangers that hold the muffler up, one of them were so short that my muffler was hung on only one of the hangers as well as the exhaust rattling on the rear diff or near by. Their product quality has diminished over the years. Helix, eh, they use great materials but build quality has been a problem of theirs by personal experience. APS, best product out there as far as exhausts go. The APS 3.5' turbo back is probably the best sounding and looking and performing exhaust I have ever heard or seen on a Suby. They have GREAT stuff but you'll have to fork up the dough. Cobb does really stand by and offer a quality product but I have had problems with a couple of the things I have has purchased from them in the past. The EGT sensor on the uppipe kept falling out and created a huge exhaust leak and nothing would fix it. On my STi I run a catless V3 dp with a one piece JIC 505 cat back, it sounds great and is affordable.

Vishnu up-pipe, Perrin catless DP, RS*R GTII exmag catback sounds awesome and is affordable.

Helix up pipe/catted downpipe and borla hush Or something similar. Not too loud and great performance gains. Also like most said, Accessport. Stage 2 either way is the best bang for the buck in terms of price and gains. The brand name of the parts will be up to you.

I don't understand why anyone thinks the APS 3.5" turboback is expensive. I bought mine for just over $900 including the high-flow cat. Add together the price of a Helix or Perrin DP, a midpipe and a Borla catback and you break the $1000.00 mark and end up with a mongrel mix of parts.

My setup

03WRX, Helix Up-pipe (catless), stock down-pipe (don't know which one to get), Borla cat-back exhaust w/ dualtip (great for stock-look). I also have Cobb Access Port Stg 1 w/ 91 "piss-water" octane map, and silencer removed by the intake (almost like short ram intake). This setup runs really good. It sounds grunty, but not obnoxious.

I thought the APS 3.5' exhaust is more like $1200? Helix dp=$200 standard catback=$500. Still cheaper than what you paid for your APS exhaust, I still have never seen it for sale for less than $1200.

why dont u get a stealth back system from turbo xs,you can fit any axel back with the system.

You are mistaken; I've seen it for $990 at Vivid Racing, and I paid that much at Dyno-Comp. Regardless, a Helix DP and a Catback misses one big thing -- no midpipe. stick with the stock midpipe and you give up the gains of a true 3" exhaust.

What are you talking about? The Helix DP replaces all cats/piping all the way to an aftermarket catback or the stock catback. Catback=replacement of midpipe, axleback, muffler and tip. Therefore, all exhaust parts after the turbo have been replaced. Also are you talking about the 3in. APS TBE or the 3.5in APS exhaust because they are both way different from one another.
