Exhust question

which exhust do ytou guys suggest? I've heard the hks is good and so is the aps but having a hard time deciding between the 2. Also do you suggest a 3 or 3.5 inch. I am putting it on a 2005 wrx.

3inch is good. you dont really need more than that unless you have a lot of power...most exhausts will give you the same power increase. sounds and looks id say greddy evo2, prodrive oval tip (if u can find one), stromung, hks are nice. i have the greddy evo2 and like it and dont plan on changing it anytime soon. once broken in it sounds great.

if you just want sound with little to no performance gains get a catback. The greddy evo2 is very nice sounding, very subtle.

if you want performance and sound get a catless turboback exhaust (or one with highflow cat)

3" or 3.5" is plenty big on a wrx, both can handle larger aftermarket turbos. The APS turbo back was my second choice after the TurboXS that I have now. I choose TXS for the great deal I got ;-) It has the 4" downpipe and standard muffler. Low and burbly at idle, but loud and mean when you punch it, and the massive downpipe makes a cool whistle.

if you plan on getting rid of the cats even a relatively quiet exhaust will get kinda loud. so if you get a loud catback, then get rid of the cats........it'll be reaaaaaalllyl loud.

the review section has quite a few exhaust on there. i think i would stray away fro B&B, i know someone that needs to tighten it everyonce in a while, and it had a small leak frome a wield spot.

fujitsubo sounds nice, aps is a good company, i wouldn't mind the 3.5 inch

3" should work fine.

you should get an uppipe and downpipe tho for more power and that removes the cats. so maybe get a quite exhaust that will become louder with the uppipe and downpipe. ex. borla hush?

Once i get my uppipe and downpipe installed, im gonna make a sound clip of my evo2. its really not quiet compared to stock. it sounds great once its broken in and gives you noticable gains. it also looks great.

the greddy evo2 with downpipe(catted) and upipe is about as quiet as a full 3 inch gets. I have been told many times how quiet it is. But it sounds great. My favorite nice and low growl.

+1 for the Borla Hush... gorgeous piece of work

Very aggressive, bassy sound! very low tone though... gets louder with uppipe and downpipe... but still remains tame

Hks

hello, i went with HKS on my 02 almost three years ago and have enjoyed it since. although the downpipe does not have a bellmouth design the fit and finish of the Hypersystem along with the sound is too cool whatever you decide it has to be better than stock
