both are almost the same. usually 16g's cost more. VF39 over time develops a crack by the wastegate Its typical..i dunno if it effects performance. Both good turbos. If you lookin to go a little further i would suggest 18g.

vf39 is the cheaper turbo. theres no point spending money on a 16g, you might as well save up for an 18/20g.

I find Big 16Gs (TD05) on eBay for $359 all the time, brand new. VF39s, used, go for $600+ and I have seen them new for $1,350. Don't know where you are looking, but the 16G is a better deal. VF22s are also very expensive...

VF39's you can get used for around 300 used here on the forum. 16gs are like around 400 used... I've herd bad things about ebay turbo's..but I maybe wrong about ebay turbos but it you look aroudn the forum im sure you'll find VF39, 16g's or even 18g's at a reasonable price.

I've seen very good prices on the 16g new or used.
I too have seen the VF39 crack before and I personaly
would never consider one.Although I have seen the VF34
be very dependable for folks and a good all around turbo
to go with but it will cost you.
I would go with the VF34 but it's your vehicle so the best
of luck with your turbo selection.

16G will have a bit more lag and can make a little more WHP then a VF34 or 39 the 39 will crack in the wastegate area and possibly cause boost creep under hard running conditions ie (trackdays) the VF34 is the best bolt upgrade along with pink injectors you will have a nice safe set up with the least amount of lag if tuned properly.
