UTEC maps

Hi. Newbie here. This is my first post...so hello to everyone. I have had my wrx sedan for 3 weeks and I have decided to do some upgrades. I installed EGT, boost and air/fuel gauges and I removed the resonator box. I don't want to loose my warranty so I opted for a cat-back exhaust and after reading the comparison article on Turbo I decided to get a GReeddy evo. I haven't installed it yet, it's under way. After doing more research I decided to get a UTEC, because it gives 30-40 wheel hp (claimed), good safety features, good for future adjustment if I install other mods and easy instal/removal if I take the car for service; which is what I really need. The UTEC is also underway. I also plan to add a KN drop in filter. The thing is that Turbo XS doesn't offer maps for catback exhausts, but they said that the stage 1 map will do just fine. I don't know if the UTEC can be tunned to squeese a little more hp out from the catback exhaust and take advantage from it. I just wanted to ask if any of you guys have a similar setup on your rex that would share his map with me. Or if you guys have any other suggestions? I am also looking for more mods that won't void my warranty or that are easy to remove...any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Astacun

The great thing about the UTEC is that you can tune for each any every part you install on your car. So for sure you can tune to take advantage of your new catback system. I doubt that any road tuning will help, in fact just a catback alone will be negligible in terms of increased HP/TQ. But I'm sure that there are gains to be had.

While your on the exhaust system, might as well add a downpipe and uppipe to the car and get around 20HP+ without any tuning whatsoever. Get good on the UTEC, and you can possibly squeeze out another 10+HP.

Happy tuning!
