Sorry for dumb question can my car be tuned without access port

Question Sorry for dumb question can my car be tuned without access port

I know it can be put on a dyno but I HAVE TO HAVE A COBB ACCESSPORT FOR THE TUNING ??? what is the diffrence in married and unmarried accessport?

yes you need some sort of engine management (cobb, uteck ect.) to able to tune your car becuase they need an access to your ecu which is accessport is one of them. Married is basically; meaning no other ecu can access your accessport, ITS ONLY MARRIED TO YOUR CAR: like no sharing..just ur own, thats it. And that accessport will ONLY work (flash or switch map) on your ECU. NOw if you u wanna unmarry it mean you want to uninstall the program out of your ECU so ur able to sell it or other user can use it.

acess port is just a brand name of tuning there are many out there

Word, if you just want something cheap, you can buy the cable for $80 or whatever it costs and then flash your own! You could probably ask real nice to have someone with a wideband o2 sensor do some data logging for you and modify the boost/fuel maps.

I am actually thinking about trying it out soon just see how it works.
