Palm PDA OBDII Scanner Tools
I have been interested lately in buying a OBDII scanner for checking and clearing CEL codes. I have also been researching the Palm PDA type OBDII scanners and such. My philosophy is, why not but something that also funchtions as an address and phone # holders, as well as a calculator, and of course a OBDII scanner. I would like to know if anyone uses these types of scanners here, or has any experience with these types. Here's a few links. Please feel free to comment on the benefits or disadvantages of using these types of scanners:

I'm a mechanic at a chrysler dealer and about 3 or 4 mounths ago the tool guy brought one around. If all your going to do is check and clear cel's it'll be fine, but thats about all its good for. However if I remember right it was inexpensive. I think he (MAC tools) only wanted about $300 and was going to throw in a pda. To do any kind of extensive diagnostics its just way too slow and doesn't give enough info.
Hope I helped.. |
