GReddy E-Manage Ultimate

Anyone using it?

I just found out you can get rid of MAF sensor if you use it. That is something I would really much like to do.

Any feedback?

I got the ultimate on my car for just 1 day, then had to take it back off. First there was no way to conect the dam thing to control indevidual injectors without a CEL coming on, then connected it the regular emanage way that would control all injectors at the same time and found out the car was bogging. I was told it's a software problem and it's only happening on the wrx/sti.

Why do you want to get rid of the MAF Alex?

Mike is running TEC3. I used to run it too and I liked not having a MAF.

What are the advantages of running without a MAF?

Couldnt you just build a custom 3.5" MAF housing/intake and then scale/tune for it?

Yep, done that and it works, or just move the MAF to the charge pipe that also works.

MAF to charge pipe? Nah, thanks. No way it will last in high pressure and oil conditions.

Mike, you can recalibrate the MAF readings if the MAF is in a 3.5" pipe? Will it still "work" right after recalibration?

Yes sir we can and have done this, depending on location of your turbo (rotated and such) you may want to distance the MAF from the turbo a little and put it after a bend or two (say CAI and locate MAF in the fender well or so on).

So then when people and some tuners say that intakes don't do much and cause trouble it is bs then. My take on this is that of you have a nice intake with high flow filter and sheild (cold air) it will no doubt be better than stock. However, for it to work right, you must recalibrate the MAF. And, since it takes more time, tuners opt to NOT to do it.

Am I correct, Mike?

^^^ It seems that way . But i believe that most intakes are stock maf size. I think its more about the turbulance caused by the cai bends/lengh. I think...

If you put it in the charge pipe would there be any negative effects because of heat? I have the Perrin big MAF and ive heard someone say that the MAF housing will heat soak and cause the ecu to pull timing. Is that true?
