Feels Like losing power at high rpms Help!!!
Hello i have downpipe ,catback, CAI, MBC, Fuel Pump, Turbo Timer. I'm running at .11 which is 15.95 psi now at like 5000 rpms and higher just feels like im not gaining any more power. Do I need injectors, different plugs, or like a unichip? I don't know what to do. Also the fuel pump at times i can smell gas is this a bad thing cause im probably running rich cause its pumping out more gas and not burning it all right? Please help me out. Also is .11 to high for my stock internals whats safe for the wrx.

The stock turbo does choke at higher boostlevels being held till redline. That could be one thing...
The other would be timing being pulled back as you get closer to the redline |
Well i turned my boost back to stock. How can i run 15.95 psi and still be gaining power till redline. Also is it alright for me to be running at .11 equivalent to 15.95 psi. thanks

I think many people are running 15.5 psi on stock to be safe.

the stock turbo is small, so running higher boost than say, 15 or 16 psi, is pretty much useless, it's running out of breath. I would say run 15psi with the stock turbo. It really isn't necessary to have the fuel pump at that level, but it probably doesn't hurt either, ... except for your gas mileage maybe.
I'd say get some 'colder' plugs. NGK BKR7E (stock# 6097), gapped to about .028 You'll need injectors for a bigger turbo, and there are many unichip options for your setup. |
Another thing to note:
The stock ECU has retarded the timing, added a lot more fuel in high RPM ranges, why because they want the car to last a long time. Of course retunign that can help quite a bit, and changing the Turbo will help even more. |
