ECU versions

ECU versions
I have an 02 WRX stock and want to flash a STG1 map. The rom I'm looking at is made for a specific version "A4SGE01C". Here are all the ecu versions for 2002:
A4SGE01C (AF426)
A4SGE00C (AF425)
A4SGD10C (AF424)
A4SGC00C (AF423)
A4SGA00C (AF422)
A4SG900C (AF421)
A4SG500C (AF420)
Does it really matter what ECU version I have? Or do I have to have the specific version the rom is for?

Ohh and I won't be using AP, this is OS tuning
