Do I need a fuel pump for stage 2 2013 wrx?
I was wondering if i would need to upgrade my fuel pump for my 2013 wrx. I read some forums and they said you don't. So i'm just making sure if it's really recommended. :sign0085:

are you just going to be running an OTS cobb stage 2 map? If so, you do not need a fuel pump. If you plan on getting tuned you probably will, but I would talk with your tuner first and see what their preference is.

I have tuned them both ways on the newer wrx's the upgrade pump does help with the fueling on the car and in turn will make more power.

From my experience tuning (lol, 3 cars!) the injectors seem to run out of room before the fuel pump reaches it's limit.

Yes that is true but if you at least have a fuel pump that flows more than the stock pump your injector won't max out as soon. But you can still max them out with a upgraded pump too.

It wouldn't hurt

Very true. I maxed out my stock injectors with the stock fuel pump somewhere around 3500-4000 rpm, where as now they max out around 5000 rpm on the Aeromotive 340 lph pump. The injector duty cycle runs about 90% up until 4500 rpm where it begins to climb. Thanks Snail! |
