AP1 vs AP2

Is there any real difference between the AP1 and the AP2? I'm not really concerned with it looking nicer, I just need something to flash my ecu with economy mode and stage 2. Is there any other beneficial functions that I'll be missing out with the AP2?

I also think that the AP2 is easier for tuners to custom tune.

I have the AP1 and I dont see myself upgrading unless mine explodes.
