Exclamation ADVANCED Wideband question:

(i am using my friends fourm name)
Ok, although i am a newbie to wrx i am not a newbie to tuning or performance or mechanics so with that in mind:

My friend has purchaced a innovate motorsports LC1 with a XD16:
http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/x...cat=262&page=1

here is a better description of what the LC1 does exactly:
http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/lc1.php

he also has the equiptment to re-flash the ecu and connect a laptop to the ecu and datalog from the ecu.

this is what i want him to do:
connect the wideband to the ecu for accurate logging and tuning.

this is the problem:
i found out that the WRX has 3 different narrowband o2 sensors

the solution:
find out how the ecu interperates the data from the 3 o2 sensors, ie: averageing, or if it uses them indivudaly.

with this info what i intend to do is replace all the signals from the narrowbands with the NARROWBAND SIMULATOR OUTPUT from the wideband which is fully configurable, this way when he is logging the data from the ecu he is getting a verry accurate o2 reading instead of just from the OEM o2 sensors....

also if anybody has any information on the pinouts at the ecu that i will be dealing with that would help me greatly.

thanks,
Jeremy

it has to be long term or short term

they are individual from the last time i remember i got a CEL for an AF ratio sensor

bank one sensor one

the LC1 has to be used after the turbo but 3 is the problem cyl so that might be another problem too

3 is the cyl that blows up

ok, good news for me, its much easier, the software and re-flash program we are using is called ecu-tec delta dash and apparently it is compatable with innovate motorsports, meaning that if you have innovate motorsports software program "logworks" running at the same time as the delta dash software program then the delta dash will grab the wideband reading straight through the laptop! so i dont even need to mess with wires at the ecu,......

BUT !.............

This makes another problem I have been having:
both ecu tec and innovate use serial cables to transfer data to the laptop so if you dont have 2 serial ports on your laptop (who does?) then you will need an adapter.
this is fine with one exception, MOST and i mean MOST usb to serial adapters do not have an individual adapter address like a mac address which is also fine until you want to use 2 of them at the same time! then they colide and crash your software programs! so you need to find a HIGH QUALITY usb to serial adapter that will give you its own address to distinguish itself from your other one and high quality means $$$ and this one i found is like $70ish + shipping from australia !!! here is a link:
http://wolfems.cart.net.au/details/606996.html

well anybody know more about the addresses of usb to serial adapters?

A decent quality USB adapter will enumerate automatically and show up as a seperate com port for you to use. I use the ATEN UC232A one bought at a local computer shop. Cost me around $20

http://www.aten-usa.com/?product&cat=595&Item=UC232A

The Delta dash software takes data directly from the LM1/LC1 so you dont have to use the LM1 software Logworks at all.
