werrrring sound

every time i push the clutch in on my 02 wrx there is a werrring sound does not mater if im moving,stopped or shifting,a friend has the same problem,is it a release bearing or...i dont know subaru wants me to change my clutch but i think they just want to rip me off ,please help

Hmm maybe throw out bearing.

I was told that the squealing bearing is an early indication that the clutch is on its way out (so your dealer may not be BSing you). I'm guessing that there isn't much point changing the bearing without replacing the clutch.

My clutch has 112,000 miles on it, so its probably due anyway.
