sti rear diff fluid

what fluid is best for the sti's rear diff? i was going to put 75w90 mobil 1 in it but i dont know much of the internal clutches w/ that diff and if it needs friction.
thanks

I know this is an ongoing opinion issue, but I wouldn't use Syn. in the rear diff. I would use regular 75w90 gear oil. Just my two cents. I figure what came from the manufacture can't be a bad idea.

do the front and center differentials in the sti 6spd get lubed by the gear oil from the trans or are they seperate?

pj21086 Aug 29, 2007 02:29 PM

yes, it uses the same oil.

75w-90 for the tranny and Subaru LSD Oil for the rear diff ;)

How many cans of K0305Y0900 does it take to fill the whole thing?
