Have anyone every swapped a front and/or rear diff?
you need a dial guage to measure the backlash (how tight the pinion and crown gears are)
I donno about the R180 but on R160, the backlash should be 0.10 - 0.20 mm
You need to adjust the shim on each side bearing to make it within the specification.
there are 5 different shims
p/n --/-- thickness
383475201 0.20mm
383475202 0.25mm
383475203 0.30mm
383475204 0.40mm
383475201 0.50mm
basically, you mix and match these shims
if the backlash is tight, you might heat up the diff oil high and cause some trouble, if its too loose, you might get noise from diff.
I hear you can change the LSD without adjusting the shim because its roughly the same, but I'd measure the backlash and do the right way to save some possible trouble later on.

I would have somebody do the fronts unless you are good at reading service manuals.. because you have to open up the transmission case.
It looks like straight forward but for first timer like me, it looks hard. I had somebody do my transmission.
I opened my broken transmission and few parts already dropped and i can't find where its supposed to be. lol.
For tarmac, rears are more important than fronts, so if you are in a rush, I'd do the rear first. and for your purpose, i even think it might be better with just the rear because it makes the car more FR feel.
maybe you can see how the USTCC car is set up.
