differential(LSD) question
i searched the board and couldnt find anything, i have a question on the impreza differential, does impreza's come with LSD? all models? or just specific ones? which one's are interchangeable? or as long as it's a LSD from a impreza it'll fit in any other impreza? if anyone could answer these question, it'll be helpful, thanks.

WRX comes with viscous center and rear difs. The front is open on it (which sucks). New STi comes with LSD front center and rear. I believe that front one is torsen type.

No.
The US WRX comes with Viscous Open front and center and rear Viscous LSD. The New STi comes with front and rear LSD and center DCCD. No LSD in the center. |

could i put the wrx LSD, in a regular L? or 2.5RS? what modification would be needed?

If the final drive ratio and length of the driveshaft are the same, you should be able to, otherwise it'll take a lot of work.

Since we are talking diffs.
Can the rear LSD be put in the front on a WRX? I assume the front doesn't come with an LSD type for turning reasons, will the rear LSD in the front be too stiff (not allow enough free wheel in the front diff) and not allow for a proper turning radius? Well, okay am sure cost has some thing to do with it too! Thanks! |
the rear dif that came out of my wrx was a clutch type.
