Car jerks when turning

I have a 2005 forester xt and after driving a lot in the city or highway the car jerks and makes a popping noise from the back. It doesn't do this when you first take off I'm wondering if it could be the rear end going out? Any ideas??

Most likely one of your drive axles, they are pretty prone to going out on turbocharged subarus.

If my car did this, I'd be under it post haste! And yes, about the axles.

Do you have any suggestions on where to get one reasonably priced. The ones I've seen are in the thousands.

An axle for thousands..? The hell? You can go to autozone and get one with a lifetime warranty for ~$150 bucks.
