wrx vrs. Eclipse
 

Hey my freind wants to race me for 50$$ at the track he has a eclipse turbo front weel drive with a front mount turbo boost controll, and a turbo timer and a strait pipe. I have a wrx with a strait pipe, up pipe, turbo timer, boost monkey. Should I race him for $$??

you'll kill him. go for the money.

i smoked an eclipse with more than that and my car is stock, he ran a 9.7 on the 1/8 and I ran a 9 flat

agreed...... eclipses are nothing unless they have a turbo upgrade, especially a fwd. Now my friend does have a gsx (awd) with a modified ball bearing turbo, front mount ic, downpipe and exhaust that will smoke most of the cars on this board. It's really insane!!!!!

You should defenitely race him, but don't underastimate him because you never know. Since you are friend why not race for fun, why for money? I guess som people do better when things are at steak, but some don't. Anyway have fun.

yea i raced a gsx with more stuff on it than i can remeber. i smoked him bad in the 1/4. then even worse on the freeway. said he was running 20 psi boost. "whatever dude"!!!!!!

Bottom line.....don't race for money unless you can afford to loose it. Anything can happen, anytime.....a missed shift...bogged launch....

Your car should be about .5 second quicker under ideal conditions for the 2 of you. A FWD eclispe turbo is faster....just has less traction. I have run stock Eclipses that ran a 15.0 STOCK fwd.
And remember the average driver in a stock WRX only runs 14.5ish...

correction....

FWD eclipse is faster then an AWD Eclispe. IE more HP, due to less drivetrain to spin.

faster? Theres no way I thought they only had like 200 hp at like 5000 rpms or something like that? Maybe i read some bogus specs. Besides my girlfriend has a gsx with not much done and i'm not impressed
