EJ25 to EJ30 Possible
 

I have 99' Subaru Outback, have had issue with timing belt failure considering converting EJ25 to EJ30, is this possible?

I been looking for thread, if possible what type alterations would be required?

Possible yes, but imo you'd be better off going the EG33 rout.

The newer 3.0 liter engines require standalone systems OR the ENTIRE wire harness from the original donor car because they have stupid silly security systems.

I'm in the process of doing an EG33 swap myself, got the wires labeled up and just waiting for a few answers from exhaust people and then I'm balls in.

RS25 has more info on swap than here imo and more technical babble.

Hmmm id recommend going eg33 with full rebuild unless you can find a donor ez30 complete and part out what you don't need. the eg33 is a BiG AND Strong engine that subaru couldn't contain back in the days. i.e. the svx not having manual transmission and having a crappy 4 speed automatic.

EG33 for the ****ing win, 500$ motor, ecu and wiring harness is usually another 100$. Cheapest power there is not to mention easiest.

I'm swapping my Legacy from 2.5 to 3.3 can't wait.
